We have much to say

Interning 101

Now as the weeks go on I feel as though I never stop learning new things.  That’s a big part of being an intern.  Your brain needs to be a sponge; soak up as much information as you can and absorb it and be able to use it later.  I am lucky enough to not be interning at a place that sticks me in the back mail room. I don’t lick stamps for five hours a day; I work.  Myself and the other interns get to work on real projects for real clients. Unlike in school where most of the things we do are either made up or redesigning something that already exists.

When I started I thought the most stressful part of interning would be meeting with clients. I soon learned that I was stressing for no reason. The people we work with at Gravity DesignWorks are as welcoming as they are friendly.  Even now, as I sit here at my desk, clients come in a out of the building.  We often meet in the downstairs conference room. In the conference room we have work up on display for everyone to see. I like to think of it as a constant display of the companies portfolio. We are always creating and design so the work never stops.
